About the job
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and answering any concerns or queries.
- Conduct initial patient assessments, which include collecting medical histories, vital signs, and noting symptoms.
- Ensure patients understand and follow pre-procedure instructions (e.g., fasting, medication modifications).
- Assist with the installation and operation of diagnostic equipment as needed, working with radiologists, technicians, or other medical experts.
Job instructions
- Provide assistance during diagnostic procedures such as imaging (X-rays, MRIs, CT scans) and laboratory tests (blood draws, biopsies).
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with radiologists, laboratory technicians, and other healthcare experts to ensure that diagnostic procedures go smoothly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of patient contacts, procedures, and results.
- Report any issues or unusual findings to the relevant medical personnel.
- Ensure that all patient data is kept confidential and in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
