About the job
- Neonatal Care: Provide specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates admitted to the NICU, which includes examinations, monitoring, and medication administration.
- Ventilator Management: Effectively manage ventilated neonates by assuring proper settings, monitoring, and modifications to maximize respiratory support.
- Monitor and record neonates' vital signs, growth characteristics, and treatment responses. Please notify the medical team as soon as any changes occur.
- Feeding Assistance: Help with feeding premature and low birth weight babies, whether by breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or tube feeding.
- Family Support: Provide emotional support to parents and family while also providing guidance on newborn care and creating a warm and comforting environment.
Job instructions
- Infection Control: To keep the NICU safe and sanitary, strictly adhere to infection control measures.
- Medication Administration: Administer drugs to newborns in an accurate and safe manner, following hospital procedures and the Five Rights of Medication Administration.
- Collaborative Care: Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare specialists to provide complete care for babies.
- Parent Education: Inform parents on neonatal care, developmental milestones, and safe practices for the baby's well-being.
- Documentation: Keep accurate and thorough patient records, including all assessments, treatments, and interventions, in an electronic health record system.
